But it seems like my generation did start to put stuff up that was seasonal once we got married or moved out. My SIL got counseled for her snowman wreath having on a stocking cap that was too much like Santa's...although I think it was a blue cap! Ugh.

everybody must know of a funny/weird/dumb disfellowshipping offence.

here's mine:.

i moved to a new congregation and was related this story by a sister with the most deadly serious face.

I've known some of these happening also.

A young man on medications and steals from a store...disfellowshipped.

An affair found out 20 years later...disfellowshipped.

A bi-polar depressed tried to commit suicide...disfellowshipped.

A person with multiple personality disorder commits adultery...disfellowshipped.

There is no love. Those that are repentant still get disfellowshipped in order to make an example out of them. They are tormented with having to jump through hoops and treated as worthless. I have seen it first hand and it was a major issue that helped me see the truth about the Society. It destroys families and plays God.

Assembly talk admits that meetings are boring.

i made a post yesterday about some of the stupidity that has been flowing from my most recent assembly program.

one things i forgot to mention was this:.

hd television, video games, cell phones, and other interactive electronics - all of these things are very highly stimulating to the eyes and ears and kids (and maybe some adults, too) get used to receiving this type of visual and auditory input.

They even got rid of the windows so that the meetings would be even more boring!

I remember as a child loving to sit next to the tiny little window where I could at least see the wind move the leaves. Then they remodled and took away the window. SIgh.

i wonder how many disfellowshipped ones there are out there who still believe or claim to be jw, but know they cant get re-instated for whatever reason?.

obvious examples being those in a loving relationship but not able to marry.. i suppose we will never know, it being unlikely they would be reading this site, probably regarding it as apostate.. what a lonely place they must be in..

I think it has to be one of the saddest places to be. It is the reason I think some I have known have committed suicide. It is a very dark place to be. ♠

my adult stepson, who lives with us, has his daughter every other week.

she turned one in march.

she's very bright, verbal and started walking at 9 months.

I can only say I think she wants to be heard! :D Loud and clear!

Our daughter used to cry so hard as an infant she didn't register that the bottle was already in her mouth and we had to squirt milk in her mouth so that she would drink!

Both of our kids used to scream when told no or having something taken away. Our nephew had to be taught to pet the kitty "soft". He liked to hit her.

It just takes years of constant and swift discipline. You feel like giving up and wearing out, but you keep going. Eventually other people tell you they want their kids to hang around yours in hopes that your child will wear off on them! (Can you tell I'm feeling pretty good right now after all these years of my nerves being shot!!!????) I find it's like breaking a wild horse! It's tiring and exhausting but the pay off is going to be wonderful!

It sounds like she has found herself and is just going to take time to learn her boundaries. Seeing she is learning the rules at two different households, it may take her quite awhile to figure out what is expected of her and where. If Mama lets her get away with it one week, Daddy has his work cut out for him the next week.

I wouldn't jump to thinking she has a medical condition. If it really concerns everyone, talk to the DR. about what signs to watch for. Otherwise, she just sounds like she's one! Get ready for two (that really hits at 18 months) and if you think 2 is bad, take cover! The age of 3 is even worse! That's why God made kids cute! So we put up with them! :D

Just enjoy her all you can! I am glad you are getting some sleep!
